Knowledge for Progress


UDDOG is an extraordinary action research conducting to reduce poverty through small scale investment. The investment plan is preparing by the UDDOG members themselves where PROGGA provides them the relevant information and financial support without any interest with flexibility to return the given amount at their convenient time.

The ultimate goal of UDDOG is to prepare an alternative development-model of micro-credit as a way of poverty reduction so that it can draw attention of development activist as well as policy makers going beyond the so-called traditional approach like Micro-credit.

Major Activities

  • A month long baseline survey conducted among UDDOG members, for the purpose of future evaluation;
  • An advisory committee formed consisting of local peoples to monitor the activities of UDDOG;
  • Around one lac taka distributed among 32 UDDOG members without any interest and the return time designed by themselves with enormous flexibility depending on their nature of business;
  • Conducted a day long workshop in December 2008 along with UDDOG members and Advisors to understand about the objective of UDDOG;
  • It is a self financed initiative of PROGGA, launched at the beginning of 2008 at Ranipur village in Dinajpur district.
