Death Clock

In Bangladesh, around 57,000 people die from tobacco-related diseases annually, i.e. tobacco kills 156 people in a day. The Cabinet has approved the draft of the amended tobacco control act of 2012 in principle in 27 Aug, 2012. Thousands of people have already died after the Cabinet approved the draft. The `Death Clock’, set on a billboard in the form of a digital clock, is displaying the number of deaths due to tobacco use with a view to draw greater attention of the policy makers and to create stronger public supports for the urgency of passing the amended tobacco control law.
